Our criminal lawyer received word of a welfare check gone all sorts of wrong recently. The sherriff’s department received a phone call to check on a man who had recently posted pictures of him using illegal drugs.
When officers arrived the man was extremely agitated and began making threats to the officers on scene. During the verbal exchange the man opened fire on the deputies with a rifle.
The shooting led to a standoff, which lasted roughly an hour. The man then left the home and turned himself in. He was charged with attempted murder and other felony and misdemeanor charges.
