Although Kelly is the newest addition to the GWAO family law team, she is an experienced family law practitioner, having practiced law for over sixteen years. Kelly expands the firm’s services to include private adoptions, appeals, parenting coordination, and LGBTQ specific concerns. She also expands GWAO’s geographic reach, having practiced regularly in Alamance, Chatham, and Orange Counties. Prior to going to law school, Kelly obtained a Master’s Degree in mental health counseling and worked in that field. This background gives Kelly a unique understanding of and empathy for clients experiencing stressful situations or mental health concerns. Kelly has taught continuing education courses for lawyers on how to interpret psychological evaluations and question mental health experts at trial.
