Will prisoners receive Stimulus Checks?
The answer here unfortunately for our clients in custody, is no. When you’re incarcerated unfortunately your the property of the state of North Carolina or the United States Government. When you’re their property you’re considering a dependent of North Carolina and therefore will not receive a stimulus check per our Greensboro Attorney.
Will college students receive Stimulus Checks?
The answer here is a little tricky. It depends on whether or not their parents consider them a dependent for their tax returns. If a parents lists them as a dependent, then the parent will be able to receive $500 if the child is under 17 years of age, and the student will receive nothing. If the student claims themselves on their own return, then the student will be able to claim a stimulus check.
