A law enforcement officer is feeling blessed today after someone shot at him during a traffic stop. A Greensboro attorney at our law firm was advised that the officer was responding to a felony larceny of a motor vehicle call at 5:35 in the morning. The officer drove up to the Audi sedan that they believed to have been stolen and knocked on the window. The person inside the car refused.
A couple of seconds went by and the person opened the car door and opened fire at point blank range on the police officer. Bullets apparently whizzed by the officer’s face and he’s thankful to be alive. Our top rated lawyers in Greensboro NC were advised that the officer then took off running behind his squad car, took cover, and returned fire.
Another vehicle showed up and the person who was in the Audi got into that car. During a search for other suspects they found a man hiding in the bushes who had warrants from a number of different North Carolina counties. He was arrested without incident and given a $244,000 bond. There are two other suspects currently on the run after this incident and law enforcement is attempting to track them down.
