According to our lawyer, a local high school was placed on lockdown at 2:45 pm after an investigation into an off-campus altercation. The investigation of the altercation is what led law enforcement to finding a gun on one of the students.
The student has been charged with possession of a firearm on school grounds and carrying a concealed weapon. At 18, he’s above the recent changes to the juvenile age requirement. There’s not a lookback provision in the statute, so even if he had been 16 or 17 he still would have been charged as an adult.
