Thanksgiving weekend brought new toys to the attorneys at Garrett, Walker and Aycoth.

Family members brought “flying drones,” which made us investigate how Guilford County would prosecute any illegal activity perpetrated with such devices.

The built in camera certainly brings up privacy issues, which may lead to family law issues, stalking, domestic violence issues, civil lawsuits, and even personal injury trials could be instigated.

But NC statues go further in creating criminal laws against weapons (N.C.G.S. 14-401.24, a Class E felony) and disseminating images taken (N.C.G.S. `4-401.25, a CLass One Misdemeanor).
