Former University of North Carolina football player Michael McAdoo has filed a civil lawsuit against UNC-CH.  He alleges that UNC promised but failed to provide him and other athletes a quality education.  The lawsuit, filed in federal court, states that individuals in the school and athletic department guided him toward sham classes.

In 2010, McAdoo was ruled permanently ineligible because of academic violations.
