The Great Rolling Stone Liable for a Discredited Story of a U.Va. Rape
Rolling Stone, once the home of Gonzo journalism and ultra-in-depth reporting has had its reputation soured over a rape story that was found to be fake.
The story, “A Rape on Campus,” published in November 2014, featured a woman identified as “Jackie,” who claimed she was raped and beaten by members of Phi Kappa Psi.
The plaintiff, a U.Va. administrator, is seeking $7.5 million in damages.
