A detention officer was involved in a serious car accident and has now died as a result of it according to a personal injury lawyer. She had just begun working for the Sheriff’s Department in June of this year.

She had finished her shift at 6 AM and on her way home via I-85 she pulled off the highway. A car accident attorney in Greensboro was advised that a vehicle was sideswiped by a dump truck. The dump truck did not stop. So the deputy pulled off the side oft the road to alert law enforcement when a pickup truck ran into the back of her vehicle.

State Highway Patrol estimate the truck was going 55 MPH. The driver of the truck has received criminal charges for reckless driving and failure to reduce speed.
