Alimony – Court Order v. Separation Agreement

In Family by GWAO

Important Alimony Distinction:  Patterson v. Patterson

Although court ordered alimony should terminate if the recipient engages in cohabitation, the state’s public policy does not require the termination of contractual alimony (for example, a separation agreement) if the recipient engages in cohabitation.
